You Me At Six @ Max Watt's, Melbourne (30/04/2015)
It was April 30th and Groovin' the Moo festival was underway.
One act playing their first time on the line up is English band, You Me at Six, but tonight they're at Max Watt's (formerly The Hi-Fi Bar) in Melbourne to play to a near sold out crowd. The boys from Surrey have always been a favourite for Melbourne and this time they put on one hell of a performance for the punters. As the lights dimmed and the room filled with the sound of drums and guitars, whether we were ready for it or not, we got everything these boys had. The boys started out loud, bringing out classic "six" sound with a selection of songs from their albums, 'Hold me Down' and 'Sinners Never Sleep', followed by catchy songs from the latest album, Cavalier Youth. |
Chris Miller is no stranger to the guitar and showed everyone how it's done with a killer solo, while the crowd chanted to, "Lover Boy" following after with a pounding drum beat from drummer, Dan Flint who shows why when it comes to the big sound, they absoultely bring it.
Frontman Josh Franceschi's performance of, 'Stay with Me' being one of the absolute stand outs from the show while bassist, Matt Barnes and Max Helyer continued to hype the crowd up with their energetic stage presence while ripping through, 'Underdog.'
When it was time to slow it down the boys delivered the You Me at Six ballads, having the whole room sway during their performance of, 'No One Does It Better,' which was easily my favourite of the night before it was back to business with the show becoming even more, "rock n' roll" with someone from the crowd jumping on stage to create one hell of a dynamic performance of, 'Bite My Tongue.'
You Me at Six prove just why they're one of Australia's favourite bands. I followed the people upstairs and out onto Swanston street with a smile on my face, already hoping for another You Me at Six tour in Australia and don't you worry, we'll get it!
