Tigertown - Morning Has Finally Come (27/09/2012)
As uncool as it might be to mention this at the outset, I'm hearing so much of Natalie Imbruglia in the vocals of the latest Tigertown single that I simply cannot not. That's not to imply that the distant cries of the striking pop princess are in the least bit detrimental to this pretty ballad.
From the six-piece that brought us the incredibly infectious and radio-friendly 'Lions and Witches', and the mournful slow-burner 'Go Now', 'Morning Has Finally Come' is soothing and melodic in all the right ways.
A haunting reverie, with rollicking drums and ethereal vocal sighs, it is the perfect follow-up single for the Sydney band, who made waves through Triple J's Unearthed and have received high rotation on the national radio station.
Where 'Lions and Witches' was jangly indie-pop in the vein of delightful Sydney outfit Jinja Safari, this latest release from Tigertown promises a bright future ahead for the gifted feather-loving Indie kids.
