Red Ink - Euphoria (31/07/2012)
Euphoria is the first single to be taken off Melbourne quintet Red Ink’s second EP, The Colour Age.
A track built on an idea spawned a few years ago, ‘Euphoria’ is a catchy slice of indie pop rock. A sincere and heady portrayal of innocent love plays out in a succession of stinging chords, intricate drum work and steady bass lines.
Lead singer John Jakubenko’s vocal takes on a sweet warbling tone not dissimilar to Eskimo Joe’s Kavyen Temperley, adding colour to the tune with the addition of some well placed backing and edgy ambient effects. The result is a vibrant, dance worthy track filled with infectious energy, ready to make its mark on the airwaves.
Having attracted a growing fan base and support slots with a vast array of well known local and overseas indie acts, Red Ink is definitely a band on their way up, with ‘Euphoria’ proving another testament to their potential.
