Julian Casablancas + The Voidz announce Falls Sideshows (18/11/2014)
Frontier Touring are proud to be bringing prolific songwriter Julian Casablancas + The Voidz to Sydney and Melbourne in January 2015 for their official Falls Festival and Southbound Festival sideshows.
Casablancas has hit Australian shores previously as the frontman of The Strokes, and more recently sold out his Melbourne and Sydney shows when he was last in the country for his solo tour. This, however, will be the first time Australian audiences have an opportunity to see him perform with his band The Voidz.
Founded on old friendships and musical kinship, the New York City via Los Angeles collective, fronted by Casablancas, host a live show that’s not to be missed. They were brought together through their love of rhythm driven, avant-garde music, with Casablancas touted the ringmaster of one of the most versatile bands in modern music, punk being their musical poison.
While The Strokes were on a hiatus, Casablancas put his head down creating his solo album Phrazes For The Young. Not one to sit idle, Julian Casablancas + The Voidz released their debut album Tyranny in September of this year. Full of progressive experimental sounds and catchy hooks, Tyranny is out now through Cult Records via Inertia.
With appearances in Marion Bay, Byron Bay, Lorne and Busselton already announced, metro punters in Sydney and Melbourne can be treated to the full Julian Casablancas + The Voidz treatment, with shows scheduled on January 6 at the Forum Theatre (Melbourne) and January 7 at the Enmore Theatre (Sydney).
