Harrison Koisser - Peace (07/06/2013)
Making their Australian tour debut this year with Millions, we had a quick chat with Harrison Koisser of Peace... about wizards, no less!
Peace will be touring Australia later this year, playing some pretty intimate venues. What can your fans, and new listeners alike expect from these shows?
I'm 85% sure it'll be a magical experience.
It will also be Peace’s first Australian tour, but have you visited Australia before?
Never. Mood = Excited.
Peace have been nominated as BBC’s Artist of 2013 and NME’s Best New Band. Did you ever imagine such a thing would happen so early into the bands career?
I guess not. I'm too much of a daydreamer to imagine a future reality.
I’ve read that you all share the song writing process. Is it equally shared around, or does one member focus more on lyrics than the instrumentals, and vice versa?
I write lyrics & bits & then we throw it all together & boil it up.
The album was produced with Jim Abiss who has also worked with Arctic Monkeys, The Temper Trap and Adele. How did this come to be, and what was it like working with Jim?
It's good. He really helped us get ourselves together and actually make a record.
You’ve just played Glastonbury festival, could you tell us what that was like? Any crazy stories to share?
I met some wizards. Some naked. Some not. It was an all round good time.
What would you say is the best, and worst thing about being a musician?
Phil Lynott once said the best thing about being a musician is "Free Booze, Free crisps & plenty of chicks."
What advice would you give to young musicians and bands looking to start their careers?
Write songs and make people listen to them.
Finally, if you were to describe Peace’s music in five words or less, what would those words be?
…possibly wizards.
