Fear Factory, Twelve Foot Ninja @ Metro City, Perth (11/07/2013)
Opening act Twelve Foot Ninja have well and truly earnt their (throwing) stars. The band from Melbourne have a cult following and their set was more than impressive, hopefully converting those unknown to their music as fans. The highlight included the closing song, Coming For You from their debut album.
Fear Factory's performance is one for the ages. The final show on a tour where their Demanufacture album was played in full, Fear Factory took command like no other. Brutal, intense and no doubt commanding, their presence could be felt even in the very back corners of the venue.
Fear Factory's legions of followers lapped up the performance, proving that their is still greatness in death metal today. While I was largely unfamiliar with the band (something I should be ashamed of!) I can't help but feel that I witnessed something truly amazing here tonight.
