Empra – Strange Condition (01/12/2013)
If you haven’t already heard of Melbourne band Empra, you probably will soon – they were hand-picked to tour abroad with Fall Out Boy, they won the global LiveNation band competition, and they’ve collaborated with Gotye. And with a release like Strange Condition, it’s easy to see why.
Strange Condition is a lovely little mix of pop-punk tunes that will appeal to fans of most genres.
Title track Strange Condition sets the EP up to be the success that it is, with a catchy beat and lyrics sure to appeal to both new fans and old. Yours Sincerely is a standout track, and it clearly shows why this band are fast becoming such a big deal. It’s catchy, it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser, and its right on par with industry leaders such as All Time Low.
Overall, Strange Condition is a strong follow up to Empra’s first self-titled album, and they’re a band that pop punk fans will want to get onto very quickly.
