Andy Bull - Keep On Running (Single) (07/04/2013)
Keep On Running is the latest single from Sydney's Andy Bull. We last heard from Bull in 2010 with the release of The Phantom Pains EP.
I have a tendency to over-play songs I love to the point where I need to take a long break before I can bear listening to the song again. In the case of Keep On Running, I've certainly over-played ― but I haven't even come close to growing tired of the track.
Keep On Running is an off-beat song - literally - with jolts of synth and sudden strikes of the drum. The unusual rhythm catches you off-guard and means the track never simply fades into background music.
It's also the first track that Bull that he has produced entirely by himself. It is a definite new direction from his previous work; however, the change from piano-driven to a more analog synth sound feels like a natural progression. What haven't changed at all are Bull's clever lyrics and flawless vocals. Keep On Running is an exciting taste of things to come from one Australia's finest songwriters.
